HUMAN RESOURCES SUMMER INTERN
JOB SUMMARY

The HR Intern will directly assist the HR Department with a wide range of projects related to HR compliance, benefits, data updates and entry, and recruiting. This is a paid internship that is designed to be both educational and practical. In this position, the Intern will learn how to apply acquired skills in a professional setting, and He or she will gain a better understanding of Human Resources, as a whole. The candidate will also have the opportunity to network with other departments within the organization.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist the company in its effort to reduce paper by contacting all current employees to capture a personal email address
Update missing employee beneficiary/dependent information and enter in the HR database
Review and prescreen applications
Spearhead the Affordable Care Act tracking update in our HR database


NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Miscellaneous file projects
Perform other related duties as required and directed


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

Current or recent enrollment in undergraduate degree program with a concentration and interest in Human Resources
Ability to prioritize and handle numerous assignments simultaneously
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Proficiency in internet applications and Microsoft Office


WORKING CONDITIONS

Monday-Friday from 8-5, some flexibility, we can work around a class schedule or school related activities if needed
Ability to sit at a desk for long periods of time
