EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience

EXPERIENCE: 3+ years Network Administrator experience

Position Overview

The Network Administrator position supports the Managed Broadband team. Act as top-level technical resource for implementation and support of our products and solutions. Deliver on all specifications of our Service Portfolio in implementation and support. Frequent liaising with the Service Development team to identify areas of improvement in our technology stack.


Installs, configures, and maintains LAN/WAN infrastructure objects, e.g. routers, switches, hubs.
Installs, configures and maintains firewalls, intrusion detection network sensors and VPN.
Utilize monitoring tools to verify the integrity and availability of all network infrastructure.
Proactively researches, analyzes trends and recommends steps towards implementation of optimizing network infrastructure objects.
Ensure compliance with network security policies and procedures.
Assist in developing instructions, guidelines, standards and or/policies.
Seeks resolution to Tier III work orders.
Create and report all outage notifications and network related issues according to standard operation procedures.
Produce and maintain technical documentation on all network systems. Document and update telecommunications and networking technical standards and procedures.
Ensure reliable backup and recovery from circuit and hardware outages.
Integrate and manage enterprise toolsets.
Provide network performance statistics, reports and recommendations for network enhancements.
Apply firmware and software patches as required to hardware.
Research, evaluate and stays current on emerging technologies and tools.
Work with the team to automate tasks.
Collaborate with Supervisor to identify technical areas of weakness in the team, and to provide training and mentoring.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsible for entering time & expense in ConnectWise as it occurs.
Participate in on-call rotation.
Night/weekend and holiday shifts could be required.
Other duties assigned by the Managed Broadband Operations Supervisor.
General Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:

3 + as a Network Administrator or equivalent experience.
Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience.
Active Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification or higher.
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

Advanced knowledge of networking technologies.
Advanced understanding of IPv4 and IPv6.
ITIL Foundations desired.
Experience supporting network infrastructure and troubleshooting (Firewalls, DHCP, DNS, NTP, LDAP, SSL, VPN, QoS, etc).
Ability to skillfully troubleshoot problems in a timely manner.
Network Design and implementation.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Working knowledge of BGP and OSPF routing protocols.
Possess the desire to develop new procedures and ideas.
Interface with vendors to ensure proper performance of tools and software packages.
Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Solarwinds, Pingdom, Nagios).
Experience with Ansible, Chef or other Central Management Server.
Experience with Source Code Management Tools (Git).
Strong Scripting Knowledge/Experience (Python, Bash, PowerShell, XML, and SQL).
Knowledge/Experience with Linux Operating Systems (Ubuntu, RedHat).
Strong knowledge of wireless technologies preferred. (802.11, GSM, CDMA).
