Full-time INFRASTRUCTURE & SOLUTIONS BUSINESS ANALYST

Description of Position:

The Infrastructure and Solutions Business Analyst (ISBA) will work with stakeholders, leadership and subject matter experts to understand the current state of information available in the enterprise. The role of this position is to identify future needs based on analysis of business requirements and gaps and/or quality issues between current and future data warehouse environment. Once the needs are determined the ISBA recommends potential solutions and works closely with the BI/DW development team to ensure user requirements, use cases, and issues are addressed while controlling scope.

Project Management/Business Solutions
· Analyzes business processes for inefficiencies.
· Recommends solutions or improvements that can be accomplished through new technology or alternative uses of existing technology.
· Provides coordination and communication for product installs.
· Uses modeling, testing and data models to improve the flow of information to enhance project success.
· Facilitates meetings and activities, such as vendor discussions and requirements gathering, in order to understand the needs of UnityPoint Health and Strategic Analytics, to be able to communicate and coordinate effectively across departments, facilities, business units and regions to Foster Unity.
· Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
· Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
· Develop requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language.
· Participates in project requests, budgeting and planning, and performance improvement activities, as required.
· Participates in assessing information systems trends, forecasting the environment, recommending standards
and procedures, developing approaches, programs, processes and systems.

· Acts as liaison between business stakeholders, such as management, customers or end users, and the Infrastructure and Solutions team communicating and tracking project status.
· Analyzes and communicates stakeholder needs by translating business requirements into solution requirements.
· Documents and evaluates required data and information.
· Assists in the verification that the solution meets the requirements.
· Serves as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the BI/DW development team through which requirements flow.
· Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
· Communicates to UnityPoint Health problems and service issues identified as part of the project or asset assessment process.

Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:



Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration or a related field required. Equivalent education and work experience will be accepted only if previous experience applies to specific area of responsibility.


Experience:




5 to 7 years of experience as a business
analyst with technology and project management, preferably in a complex healthcare environment.


License(s)/Certification(s):




Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
· CBAP preferred
· Microsoft, Lean or other certifications are a plus

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:




· Requires a broad knowledge of healthcare industry, clinical operations, business operations, and information technology.
· Proficient in Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio.
· Knowledge of the full range of existing and emerging technology and business capabilities.
· Must have a thorough understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processing methods, our underlying data models, security requirements, and BI reporting capabilities of the applications used to deliver BI solutions that support the most efficient and secure infrastructure and solutions environment meeting UnityPoint’s business needs.
· Strong analytical and product management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
· Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation requirements.
· Requires a general knowledge of business and management principles.
