EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Industry standard technology certifications or 1 year experience preferred

Position Overview

Perform external NOC Tier I tech support duties for the Colocation Team by identifying, troubleshooting and resolving or escalating client issues or requests.

Responsibilities

Support external customers by monitoring core network/service equipment for outages and performance issues.
Responds to telephone calls, emails and tickets within the established response guidelines.
Monitors NOC work queues.
Work within a ticketing system (ConnectWise).
Phone support with field technicians.
Use and maintain tools (knowledge base, FAQs, etc.) to resolve customer problems effectively.
Diagnose and configure equipment and address configuration on hardware, network and software issues.
Resolve issues to meet SLA requirements and escalate if necessary.
Communicate changes, outages to appropriate contacts and customers.
Produce and update documentation to process, drawings and monitoring system.
Maintain familiarity with all products and services offered.
Maintain a customer focus in all activities, helping to drive customer satisfaction.
Accepts escalated customer issues that may come from other NOC technicians.
Maintains ownership of issues and follows through on all customer issues until those issues are resolved
Provides additional shift coverage when required.
Responsible for entering time and expenses in CCR systems as it occurs and submitting them for approval by the designated deadline.
Attend CCR-internal training seminars as required by NOC Supervisor.
Required to carry on-call responsibilities on rotating basis.
Occasionally required to work holidays.
Other duties assigned by NOC Supervisor.

Additional Technical Skills:

CCENT Preferred.
General Knowledge of Scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell, XML, and SQL).
Network+, Security+ certifications.
Experience in a Network Operations Center monitoring mission critical applications and services.
Experience supporting network infrastructure and troubleshooting (Firewalls, DHCP, DNS, NTP, LDAP, SSL, VPN, etc).
Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Solarwinds, Pingdom, Nagios).
Experience with Central Management Software (Ansible, Chef).
Experience with Source Code Management Tools (Git).
Experience with Linux Operating Systems (Ubuntu, RedHat).
Experience with troubleshooting server hardware (Blade and Rack Servers).
Ability to troubleshoot Radio Frequency.
