Part-time Matching Specialist-Part Time

Job Description

Under the supervision of the Matching Manager, the IKN Matching Specialist process DHS/JCS referrals for foster care placement matches and are responsible to provide timely matches for each match category; contact he local Recrutiment and Retention Supervisors to assure the best match; utilize the R&R database to enter timely documentation; follow matching policies, procedures, and protocols; and provide the highest of customer service standards.


Obtain thorough and complete referral information to assure optimal matches.
Provide respectful, timely, and professional communication (written and verbal) to customers (DHS, JCS,IKN, Resource Families) as per contract and IKN protocols.
Utilize the R and R database and local supervisors to locate the optimal match for each child referred.
Provide one or more names of Resource Families to DHS/JCS that meet the requested referral criteria.
Document family contacts timely (as they occur) as per matching protocols.
Manage referral assignments, monitoring timeframes for completion and modifying work strategies to meet such timeframes.
Alert IKN Matching Manager of barriers to completing referrals in a timely manner.
Follow troubleshooting procedureswhen matches are potentially late.
Immediately contact the Matching Supervisor when DHS/JCS are not satisfied or have concerns

A degree in human services, human resource management, business, or social service plus one year of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. Knowledge of the child welfare foster care and adoption system is preferred.

About Iowa Kids Network (IKN):

Four Oaks is responsible for state-wide services to foster and post adoptive families and sub-contracts with 5 other Iowa child welfare agencies to provide services to all 99 Iowa counties: foster and adoptive family recruitment, retention, pre-service training, licensing, support to foster and adoptive families, and partners with the Iowa Department of Human Services and Juvenile Court Services to recommend available foster care placements for Iowa children in need of temporary out-of-home care.
