Full-time Field Investigator

This opportunity provides Investigative Services for clients to help fight fraud by gathering facts and delivering unbiased, objective information about a claim. We are seeking an EXPERIENCED Field Investigator in the Dubuque, IA area.

You will be part of a team of professionals who are passionate about what they do. With our state-of the-art online case management system, you will be provided all the tools and support necessary to ensure your success and achieve assigned case objectives for our clients.

Responsibilities:

Review assignments and supporting documentation to determine case objectives and client expectations.
Conduct stationary and mobile surveillance as assigned and in a manner, that prevents detection by the subject.
Conduct background/activity checks and courthouse research
Document the nature and extent of the subject’s activities utilizing a video camera.
Obtain information related to a subject’s activities utilizing a pre-text without alerting the subject to the investigation.
Complete daily reports of the surveillance activities using an online reporting system.
Complete daily uploads of video and photographic evidence over the internet utilizing a proprietary file transfer program.
Complete daily timesheets documenting case time, non-case time and expenses.
Complete expense reports on a bi-weekly or monthly basis.
Requirement:

Must be licensed as a Private Investigator in IA and eligible for licensing in surrounding states.
Experience in conducting surveillance (fixed/mobile)
Reliable surveillance vehicle
Possess or is willing to purchase: covert camera, digital video camera with uploading capabilities, and laptop computer with Windows Operating System with access to Microsoft Word
Operate a video camera in a manner that produces evidence that can be presented in a court of law.
Operate a computer and related software to complete daily reports, evidence transfers, timesheets and expenses.
Follow a subject during mobile surveillance without breaking contact with the subject or alerting the subject to the investigation.
Read database transaction reports.
Write investigative reports in a clear and concise manner utilizing proper grammar and spelling.
Communicate with staff and clients in a professional manner.
Flexibility to work varied/irregular hours and days including nights, weekends and holiday.
Ability to travel to and from assignments daily
Ability to pass criminal background check including National, Federal and County, MVR, drug screen and pre-employment screening
Preferred Skills/Experience:

Preferred Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or related field
Strong attention to detail with commitment to accuracy and quality
Self-starter who holds themselves accountable for results and performance.
Military or Law Enforcement background
Experience as a Private Investigator or Detective
Ability to adapt and work under all situations
