Position objective: The Accommodations Analyst II completes and coordinates the review of requests for testing with accommodations for ACT-delivered assessment programs. The Senior Accommodations Analyst serves as the quality control lead to monitor and ensure consistent application of ACT’s policies and procedures related to examinees with disabilities, English learners, and other underserved populations.

Typical work-related activities include:

Accommodations Analyst II

Review diagnostic and supporting documentation submitted with requests for test accommodations and English learner supports and reach a disposition according to ACT policies and procedures and in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities ACT (ADA), client policies, and other applicable laws, rules and regulations
Coordinate and schedule the reviewing of requests, including referral to internal and external consultants, to ensure that established deadlines are met
Interact by telephone and in writing with consultants, potential test takers, parents, health care providers, and school officials
In conjunction with department leadership, develop, review, revise, and maintain related publications, request forms, policy documents, procedures manuals, and standard correspondence
Consult with and advise team members regarding accommodations-related policies and procedures, specific requests for accommodations, and related legal issues
Keep current regarding assistive devices, emerging technologies, psychological and diagnostic standards, and legal standards related to test accommodations and be able to translate to accommodation requests
Senior Accommodations Analyst

Develop and implement a quality control procedure to monitor and ensure consistent application ACT’s policies and procedures related to examinees with disabilities, English learners and other underserved populations

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

Master’s degree in speech/language pathology, counseling, psychology, special education, rehab counseling, or related area required
Ph.D. degree preferred
Training in learning disabilities and experience evaluating cognitive disabilities and reviewing related diagnostic documentation and/or expertise in English learner policy, provision of services as an English learner teacher, and/or experience evaluating English learner needs
State licensure as a psychologist is preferred
EXPERIENCE:

Accommodations Analyst II

Minimum of three years of related experience, including diagnosis, treatment, teaching, counseling, and/or provision of services to individuals with disabilities

Senior Accommodations Analyst

Minimum of five years of related experience, including diagnosis, treatment, teaching, counseling, and/or provision of services to individuals with disabilities

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Ability to collect and analyze research data
Ability to use computer systems and communications software including word processing, spreadsheet, database, and Windows
Ability to manage, prioritize, and organize work
Demonstrated ability to determine logical solutions to complicated problems
Superior ability to read and interpret written materials, including the recognition of technical terms and to communicate with others in a way that is appropriate to audience
Ability to compute multiple-step mathematical calculations
Strong communication skills with ability to communicate with internal team members in department and across organization, and with external customers
Ability to represent department/organization in public forums, such as conferences and at audits, as a presenter

Senior Manager, Test Accommodations

COMPENSATION:
